Guild of Photographers Annual Awards Night

Saturday night was the Guild of Photographers annual awards night. The awards are based on competition entries throughout the year with points being awarded for entries gaining bronze or above. After a year of competition I was so amazed and delighted to discover that I had been awarded a top ten place in the Photographer of the Year competition in the newborn and baby category. I knew the points I had been awarded throughout the year but I had no idea how this compared with other baby photographers. There were some amazing photos submitted throughout the year so I felt truly honoured to be placed. It was amazing to meet some great photographers and I was really inspired by the photos I saw. It was also great to take part in some training as part of the Photo Hubs organised by the Guild of Photographers. I particularly enjoyed watching live judging at the print competition. It is great to see how judges minds work and look at images in a different way. I feel really inspired to continue to learn and improve and hopefully create more award winning images in 2017!
